What Sets Us Apart

Team Member Training

As a team member at Red Lobster, you are set up for success beginning on the first day. New Hire Orientation provides you an opportunity to become acquainted with the company, the restaurant, and the team you just joined. Your General Manager will welcome you and kick-off your training program. The first portion of the day will be filled with learnings about Red Lobster’s history, vision, culture, and values. To help move the company forward for another 50 years, it is important to know our pioneering and innovative past in casual dining and seafood!

After getting to know the company, you will have an opportunity to meet your peers and tour the restaurant. Be on the lookout for the baking area to catch a glimpse of how our famous Cheddar Bay Biscuits are prepared!

The latter half of your Orientation day will have you embarking on position specific training. You will experience a blended training program- some of your learnings will come from on-the-job training and other teachings you will discover via eLearning. Working side-by-side with a Certified Trainer allows for hands-on training, but we also love exploring and integrating new technology, so you will see that in your training program too.

Your Restaurant Managers and General Manager will play an active part in your training and validate your skills along the way. As you can see, once you are hired to join the Red Lobster family, we want to make sure you succeed. When you are successful, everybody prospers- the business, our guests, your team, and you!

Restaurant Supervisor & Certified Restaurant Supervisor Training

Our Restaurant Supervisor programs create a development path to management by building a foundation of fundamental management and leadership skills. The goal of the program is to develop confident team members who are well-prepared to lead successful shifts alongside Managers.

An additional certification provides further developmental opportunities and allows the Certified Restaurant Supervisor to now perform the opening and closing duties of the restaurant. Whether you aspire to be a future Manager with Red Lobster or simply want to take on more responsibility because you want to make a greater impact, our Supervisor program is an ideal next step in the career path.

Manager in Training & General Manager in Training Programs

Highly regarded, our Manager in Training (MIT) and General Manager in Training (GMIT) programs groom managers to be the best and most dynamic people and restaurant business leaders in the industry. This is accomplished through a comprehensive training program in the restaurant that combines on-the-job training and eLearning to bring the content and learnings to life!

Your training will have you explore topics such as Recruitment & Selection, Training & Development, Coaching & Directing, Personal Effectiveness, and a gamut of Business Acumen focus areas. Upon graduation, you will feel equipped to lead people, drive sales and profitability, and deliver on Red Lobster’s vision- to be where the world goes for seafood now and for generations.
